About Us…
Gallerie Rene’ represents contemporary visual artists residing primarily in the
Pacific Northwest. Since opening in 2006, owner Rene’ Anderson-Cowell has sought
to infuse the Portland art scene with a fresh mix of ethnically diverse art depicting
the range of cultural influences in the area. The gallery applies a curatorial standard
of selecting artists whose work transcends the boundaries of particular styles or media,
and incorporates elements that form a common language of artistic appreciation.
The gallery shows work of artists working both two and three-dimensional media.
We pride ourselves on providing a comfortable environment for any patron to absorb
some of the best that Portland has to offer.
In addition to showing art, the gallery promotes the concept of being a community
and educational resource and supporter of non-profits benefitting both local and
international relief, particularly in Africa. We hold regular events that focus on
specific organizations and themes, utilizing these occasions to incorporate music,
spoken word and other art forms.
Gallerie Rene’ is a member of the Downtown Art Gallery Association, and participates
in the monthly First Thursday art walks (www.firstthursday.com ). We invite you to visit
the gallery and see for yourself…
